Buy A Gun Day Purchase

Buy A Gun day is April 15th, a fine day to make a statement regarding freedom.

I have jumped the gun so to speak and already made my purchase.

I sent in an Imbel FAL kit, DSA metric upper receiver and requisite U.S. made parts to be built and have another FAL added to my collection. This one will be a carbine with a 16.25" barrel.

Four reasons this was my choice:
1) Ammunition and parts commonality with existing possessions
2) It has a gas piston!
3) I found a DSA metric type II receiver for a reasonable price at a local gun shop

4) I have always been found of the FN FAL since reading SOF as a kid

I will have to purchase some accessories for my newest FAL; a DSA scope mount receiver cover and a holosight (either a Trijicon Reflex or an Eotech 55x).

However I will not accessorize mine as much as this one since at least one of those accessories would get me in hot water with my heterosexual life partner.

Pics shamelessly stolen from DSA and Oleg Volk.

I heart FAL's.
That may be my next big purchase.

And yeah, I'm not going to get any curvy accessories on mine either, for the same reason.

BTW, are you going to make the Gun Bloggers' Rendezvous II, in October?
Would be great to go shooting with ya!

Howdy!

My going to the Rendezvous is unlikely due to that's the month my wife selected for going on Vacation.

She wants to go to Europe somewhere; Italy and Greece are my two favorites while she wants to see France and the U.K.

Of course should things change on when we go to vacation I might just pop out that way.

It'd be nice to meet up with the folks I spend so much time reading blogs from.

And some community building exercise like range time is always welcome.

There will definitely be range time.
Have a good vacation, anyhow.

Just don't let those Euro-socialistic tendencies rub off on you... I'll be watching. ;)
